Pull the carpeting back around the latch. You'll see the motor, and there will be a plug attached to it. Pull the plug.
Remove the plastic cover inside the trunk that surrounds the motor. There should be a connect at the bottom of the motor on the right side. Disconnect it there.
The motors for the convertable top are in the trunk in the very back behind spare tire there is a up motor and a down motor.I believe the driver side motor is the up motor. There is one motor/pump assembly and it is located directly behind the rear passenger seat. It can be accessed by removing the rear seat or by going through the trunk.
The pull down motor switch could be defective. Check for power to the motor
it should be right behind the glove box. take out the glove box or pull it down out of the way by getting the tabs on the sides of the compartment to push in so the glove box drops down. disconnect the connector on the motor & take out 3 or 4 small screws on the motor & pull it out
First, Remove the fuel Pump Relay then crank the motor for few seconds. Stop the motor, put the fuel tank down and disconnect the plug from the fuel pump.
I am going to answer my own question......As I have had this problem before, my first thought was the pull down motor had gone out again. I replaced it aprox 12 years ago and thought the motor had died again as I use the trunk all the time. Easy fix this time.....what could it hurt (?)......changed the fuse......it worked!
motor needs to be replaced, i had same problem
motor is out or you have a fuse blown
The one or one's your looking for are in the trunk under the speaker and back seat trim cover. (Access through trunk) Lot's of fuses here so if checking by sight, only pull one out at a time. The one or one's you want will be secound down from top left.
disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor and remove the 3 screws from the blower motor housing.pull the blower motor and fan straight down. to remove fan from blower motor, squeeze spring clip togetherand slip fan off the shaft.some models have no clip or screw holding fanto shaft, in this case use 2 screwdrivers to pry it off.install fan onto blower motor housing and install blower motor into the heater housing.
check in trunk, right or left quarter panel for fuse box
in the trunk you have to pull out the sideing (the side of the antenna of course) and you will see the motor behind the sideing, un bold the motor, and hold the silver ring (outside the car on like were the antenna goes down) and twist the antenna inside the trunk and it simply unscrews.
