To fix a 2007 Avalanche tailgate that won't lock, first check the tailgate latch mechanism and ensure it’s clean and free of debris. Inspect the locking cable for any damage or disconnection; if it’s loose, reattach or replace it as needed. Additionally, examine the lock cylinder and ensure it’s functioning properly; lubricating it may help if it’s sticking. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, consider consulting a mechanic or replacing the locking mechanism.
loosin the nut on the in side on the trunk adjust it where you wont it then tighten it back
Usually a large channel lock plier will do the trick, if it still wont come loose, break out the hammer.
Had exactly the same problem with my 2001 model. Took lining off rear tailgate and couldn't find anything wrong, unplugged all the connectors in the tailgate then plugged them all back in and for whatever reason this seemed to reset something and the lock has worked perfectly ever since. Via the remote and via the key.
take it to a transmission shop
use a flat head screwdriver to open the mechanism that is not workin put it in and push backward toward the tailgate
from inside. drop rear seats get in boot unlock by hand its a kind of latch. you wont be able to lock it again though unless you get in boot everytime
Lock on driver frot side is not working
There are 2 relays in the drivers side fuse box panel. They are black rectangles and they pull straight out. The top one is for the front doors and the bottom one is for the rear doors and tailgate. You can get the relay at Advance Auto or Autozone for under $14.00 This will fix your problem. John
