if you are referring to the manual recline seats (not electric), the release handle that comes from GM is "pot" metal and cracks easily.
There are replacements available on eBay and similar suppliers. Buy the better version not another pot metal one
just remove the center screw and take the old remnant straight off

use the handle....
Bottom of the motor, passenger side.
Behind the passenger side of the dash.
Passenger side bottom of engine.
Under the hood, passenger side, firewall, close to passenger fender.
Need to know inside or outside door handle.
The oil cap on a 1998 Chevy Blazer is located on the passenger side of the motor. It is just to the left of the manifold cover.
pull the handle down
Passenger side, in front of the starter.
Set fire to it!
