10w30 should work fine. Go to a heavier oil to increase oil pressure.
No it will not. Unless the oil pressure is low on the 350 engine. If you had good oil pressure in the 305, and the 350 don't then there is something wrong with the 350. Bad oil pump, engine bearings worn out, Oil pump pick-up screen stoped up. Things like that cause low oil pressure.
You can purchase a shift kit that will increase the pressure.
Oil pressure should be 40 to 50 psi
The 1979 Chevrolet 350 cubic inch engine oil pressure should be in the 40 to 45 PSI range. The more miles an engine has the lower the oil pressure will be.
how to install the oil pressure gauge on a Chevy 350 small block
The oil pressure on 91 Silverado 350 is at the rear of the engine on the driver's side, This unit is usually found above the oil filter.Ê
For a crate 350 engine, oil pressure typically ranges from 20 to 60 psi at operating temperature. At idle, it may drop to around 10-15 psi but should increase with RPMs. Consistent low oil pressure can indicate potential issues, such as worn bearings or oil pump problems. Regular maintenance and using the recommended oil viscosity are essential for optimal performance.
10/30 or 10/40 should be fine. You could use a heavier oil such as 15/40, 20/50, or straight 30 to increase oil pressure.
