Answer 1Usually, the blower motor wiring harness has a connector within 4 to 6 inches of the motor.

This connector [plastic] will have a locking device, which must be figured out, and held released while separating the connector. If this is not done, the locking tab will be broken. Although you should try not to break the locking tab, if you do, it will not be the end of the world.

Once the connector is apart, there will be two metal [usually female] terminals inside.

The next step is to connect a jumper test lead wire from the grounded metal body of the vehicle to one of those terminals.

Then connect a longer jumper test lead from the battery POSITIVE terminal to the OTHER contact in the connector.

Dealing with automotive battery current CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS, and you should NEVER allow the energized [hot] wires or connectors to come into contact with anything other than the intended terminal. IF it touches any grounded part of the vehicle or its wiring, there will be lots of sparks and heat which can injure you, or cause total destruction of your vehicle's wiring system.

Now, to get back to the test. IF the blower motor is "good," when it is properly hooked up to 12 volts, it will begin to spin, make noise, and blow air.

IF the motor does not operate, you either have not connected it properly, or it is defective.

IF the motor does operate, then it is probable that there is a defect in the speed control resistor module, the dash board control panel or switch, or the wiring in between all of these components. Good luck!

Why is your air on when the ac and heat is off?

i think what you are refering to is a blower staying on all the time, if so the blower motor has shorted the control module, you need to replace the blower motor and control module.

When you replace a blower motor do you have to replace the resistor module too?

Something called a blower control module takes the place and is found in the hole where you would find a blower resistor, so there isn't a blower resistor in that vehicle. As far as the blower control module is concerned, the module is serviced as a unit. No part can be fixed or replaced. This is not to be confused with the control head in the dash. The blower control module is held into the heater box with two 8mm screws outside the firewall under the hood, where you would normally find the blower resistor pack.

2003 Trailblazer how do you replace the heating ac control switch replaced blower module and fan still doesn't work HELP?

have you checked fuses and relays? Yes, I actually replaced the blower motor module & that didn't work. The Blower Motor itself spins freely & there doesn't seem to be any electrical issues. Could it be the Blower Motor speed switch??? If so, is that hard to access?

The blower fan for the heatAC on your Intrigue comes on by itself when the car is off What is the cause of this?

If your blower motor is either not turning itself off, or randomly turning itself on with the ignition off (and you have auto climate control), the problem is the blower control module. Located directly behind the blower motor, it takes information from the climate control, and is in charge of turning the blower on/off. To replace the blower control module, remove the splash shield under the passenger side dash (there's 3 plastic retainers hold it in place). The blower control module is located behind the blower motor, and is held in with 3 bolts. The 2 rearmost bolts (by the firewall) only need to be loosened, and the front one removed. The entire unit rotates down and can then be replaced.
