all u have to do is use a tire tool gently and push inward and it will loosen, pull the belt off, let go slowly when you install the belt and it will tighten by itself
The easiest way to loosen the tensioner is to use an automatic belt tensioner. This can be used on a serpentine belt which is connected to every pulley on the engine.belt.
You need to loosen the belt tensioner. There is a large bolt that needs to be loosened in the center of the tensioner pulley. Then the small vertical bolt is turned in the direction to loosen the belt. After the tensioner is loose replace the belt and retension it.
Use a 1/2" drive breaker bar in the tensioner.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. When the tensioner pulley is loose the belt will come off. Put the new belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. The tensioner pulley will slide to the right. This will loosen the alternator belt. So it can be removed.
Place a breaker bar on the lug/hole on the tensioner; then pry against the tensioner.
Loosen the belt tensioner and take the old belt off. Put the new one on and let the tensioner back in position. If you don't have a tensioner, you'll have to loosen the alternator and ac compressor adjusting bolts.
To loosen the serpentine belt tensioner on a 1993 Chevy Silverado, you'll need to use a wrench or ratchet on the tensioner bolt. Turn the tensioner counterclockwise to relieve tension on the belt. Once the tension is relieved, you can remove the serpentine belt from the pulleys. Make sure to note the belt routing for reinstallation.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. Put the belt around the alternator pulley and the tensioner pulley. Move the tensioner pulley to the right until the belt is tight. Tighten the tensioner pulley.
Loosen the tensioner bolt, let the spring loaded tensioner contact the belt. Then tight the tensioner bolt.
To loosen the belt tensioner on a 1989 Plymouth Acclaim, locate the tensioner pulley, which is typically mounted on the front of the engine. Use a wrench or a ratchet with the appropriate socket to turn the tensioner pulley counterclockwise, which will relieve tension on the serpentine belt. Once the tension is released, you can remove the belt from the pulleys. After replacing or adjusting the belt as needed, release the tensioner to reapply tension to the new belt.
Insert a socket or wrench on the spring-loaded serpentine belt tensioner then pull back; the belt will loosen.
