Cycling the ignition key on and off slowly several times would prime the system.
It was the name that ford gave to the chassis platform that it used for the mustang. It was shared by many other ford vehicles. Such as.1978-1983 Ford Fairmont1978-1983 Mercury Zephyr1979-1993 Ford Mustang1979-1986 Mercury Capri1980-1988 Ford Thunderbird1980-1988 Mercury Cougar1981-1982 Ford Granada1982-1987 Lincoln Continental1983-1986 Ford LTD1983-1986 Mercury Marquis1984-1992 Lincoln Mark VIIThese were the fox-3 platform, I believe. The 94-04 mustangs used the fox-4 platform but the body was designated sn95 which is how it is referred to. Ford used animal names for different chassis platforms back then.

I am not quite sure how to answer this question........Maybe you meant a 1983 model?... Ford changed to fuel injection in the late 1987 model's. Early 1987 was the last of the carb's. And this is port injection, and not throttle body.
Mercury is/was a division of Ford
Ford added fuel injection to the Bronco over the span of 3 years. It was first added to the 302 V8 in 1985. The end of 1986 they began to offer it on a 351 HO engine, 1987 was added to the I-6, 1988 was added to the 351CID.
In 1986 fuel injection was introduced, and the 2.8 was dropped for the 2.9L E.F.I which was a huge improvement. Your Bronco II spec'd 140 h.p. in 1986. Hope this helped. -- Boost

Mercury was never bought by Ford. Mercury was an automobile division created by Henry Ford's son Edsel in 1939.
