how do i remove the drive shaft from the drivers side to remove the lower ball joint
I replaced both ball joints on my 1999 Jimmy passenger side. I am assuming their the same. The axle nut must be removed, I belive it is 32 mm. I had to remove the upper to allow travel to remove the spline from the wheel bearing. Also the lower has a weird design in which the top of the ball joint is covered by the control arm, there was no hole in it to allow me to beat it out, so I made with drill bit. Maybe rent a press kit from an auto store, and get the torque spec for the axle nut. Oh yea, the shaft stays put, don't remove it just tye it up and try to keep it in the casement. Hope that helps.
You probably mean U - joint (universal joint)! Located at each end of drive shaft or axle and possibly in the middle of drive shaft.
To remove the drive shaft from a Citroën Xsara Picasso, first, securely lift the vehicle and remove the front wheel on the side of the drive shaft you are working on. Next, disconnect the lower ball joint and the outer CV joint from the hub assembly. Then, unbolt the inner CV joint from the transmission or differential. Finally, carefully slide the drive shaft out from the hub and transmission, ensuring you do not damage any seals or components during the process.

It is a staked joint drive shaft. It is not meant to be serviced.
The joint you are looking for is the U joint. You have one at the back of the transmission and another where the drive shaft attaches to the rear end. On the extended version there will also be a U joint in the middle. So if you look under the car and the drive shaft just looks like one long tube you have a two joint shaft. If however, you see what appears to be a joint about the size of both of your fists together in the middle of the shaft, you are looking at the third joint.
there are 4 bolts on the upper drive shaft where it connects to the transmission and 4 bolts on the lower part of the drive shaft where it connects to the differential the drive shaft must be dropped to change a u joint and bolt back up the way it came off

the yolk is attached to the drive shaft by a universal joint. It slides into the transmission and allows the shaft in the trans to engage the drive shaft
You have to replace the whole drive shaft.
To replace the CV joint on a Citroën C4, begin by safely lifting the vehicle and removing the wheel. Disconnect the lower ball joint and the drive shaft from the hub assembly, then slide the shaft out of the transmission. Remove the old CV joint from the drive shaft, replace it with the new joint, and reassemble everything in reverse order, ensuring all components are securely fastened and torqued to specification. Finally, test the vehicle to confirm proper installation and operation.
No, a Strut is basically a shock with a built on spring.A CV joint is the "flex" joint in a drive shaft. No, a Strut is basically a shock with a built on spring.A CV joint is the "flex" joint in a drive shaft.
Usually a bad U Joint - Universal joint connecting drive shaft to transmission & rear drive axle - there is a U joint at each end of the drive shaft - repair this ! Thew drive shaft can actually come off the car when driving - can be very dangerous.
