To remove the lower ball joints on a 1998 Chevy Suburban, first, raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the wheel and tire, then detach the brake caliper and rotor for better access. Use a ball joint separator tool to disconnect the ball joint from the control arm, and if necessary, remove the retaining nut from the ball joint stud. Finally, press the ball joint out of the steering knuckle using a ball joint press or a similar tool.
