To remove the gearbox from a Ford Mondeo 1.8, first, ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported. Disconnect the battery, then remove the drive shafts, exhaust components, and any electrical connections or sensors linked to the gearbox. Support the gearbox with a jack, unbolt it from the engine, and finally, carefully slide it out of the engine bay. Always consult a repair manual specific to your model for detailed instructions and safety precautions.

how do I remove the alternator off a 2001 mondeo. There seems to be a bolt stopping it?Type your answer here...
The usual problem with this type of intermittent fault is either the connection of the speedo cable at the gearbox or the sensor (used by mmost i think) that is on the gearbox. This sensor producs a signal that drives the gauge.
The Mondeo is made by Ford. It appeared in the UK in about 1993 and had a facelift in 1997 and another facelift round about 2002. It is available with several engine and gearbox choices and has appeared in saloon, hatchback and estate forms.
