This can be done fairly simply with a Pontiac. A lot more so than a Chevy. You need not remove the timing cover and everything associated with it like the SBC. It can be done with the engine in the car. Unbolt the motor mounts. Using a jack and a board between it and the oil pan raise the engine slightly. Make sure your fan and distributor are clearing. Insert a couple of 3 to 4 inch thick blocks between the engine and the frame mounts. Lower the engine back down. Unbolt the bolts on the pan and remove it. That's it.

To remove the starter from a 1993 Buick Roadmaster with a 350 engine, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, locate the starter, which is positioned on the passenger side of the engine. Remove the electrical connections and the mounting bolts securing the starter to the engine block. Finally, carefully slide the starter out from its position.
The 350 was first installed in the 1967 Camaro as a performance option. The rest of the car lines in Chevrolet received the engine over the next couple of years. Nova got it in 1968.
Just follow the top radiator hose to were it clamps onto the engine, That will be the thernostat housing, just remove that housing and it will be right there. You will need to drain engine coolant first. MAKE SURE ENGINE IS COLD. That is if the engine is a 5.7L 350. If it is something other then a 5.7L 350. Then the thermostat will be were the lower radiator hose clamps onto the engine, That will be the thermostat housing, remove it. If it is a V6 engine then it will be at the end of the top hose, just like the 350 engine.
Remove the engine cover it
If the 350 engine is a carbureted engine and not FUEL INJECTED, Then remove the 327 and install the 350 and hook everything back up and your done. They are the same blocks other then the stroke.
