To remove the tailgate motor from an '89 Ford Bronco, first, ensure the tailgate is fully closed. Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues. Next, remove the interior panel from the tailgate by unscrewing or unclipping it, then locate the motor, which is typically secured with bolts. Finally, disconnect the wiring harness and unbolt the motor to remove it from the tailgate.
how do remove the tailgate's window motor on a toyota 4runner 1997 ?
It is located in the rear tailgate. Remove the inner panel and the support bracket on the right hand side to see it.
this is the biggest pain i ever had to do when i had my bronco... but its simple, just take the plate off of the inside of the tailgate (tailgate could be up or down, down is easier), find the motor, unplug it and remove the couple bolts that are holding it in. careful not to cut yourself there isn't much room to work. the hardest part is getting it back in. good luck!
If the tailgate window of a 1989 Bronco won't go down, the issue could be due to a faulty power window switch, a broken window motor, or a problem with the wiring. Additionally, the window track may be obstructed or damaged. Checking the fuses can help eliminate electrical issues, and inspecting the motor and switch for damage can pinpoint the cause. If necessary, consulting a repair manual or a professional mechanic is advisable for more complex issues.
Try lubing all moving parts then.....good luck using the motor
To remove the rear window motor from a 1994 Ford Bronco with the window stuck down, first disconnect the vehicle's battery for safety. Then, remove the interior door panel by unscrewing any fasteners and carefully prying it off to access the window motor. Locate the motor and disconnect its wiring harness, then unbolt it from the door frame. Once unbolted, you can pull the motor out; ensure to handle any remaining components with care.
To remove the rear power window on a 1991 Ford Bronco, first, disconnect the vehicle's battery to ensure safety. Remove the rear door panel by unscrewing any screws and carefully prying it off to access the window mechanism. Disconnect the wiring harness from the power window motor and remove the motor by unscrewing it from its mounting. Finally, detach the window from the regulator and lift it out of the door frame.
If it is the same as my 83, which it probably is, or at least very similar, remove the inside panel and right near the center towards the top end of the tailgate (top being where window comes out) should be the motor. Mine was only connected with 3 5/16" bolts. Take those off, then use a little muscle to wrestle the motor loose.
There is a control arm that attaches to you tailgate release, chance are this or another one of these arms has come out of it's retaining clip. Remove the inside panel on the tailgate, about 6 to 8 screws. This will allow you access, though tight, into the area of the motor, gears and control arms. If you have tint on your window slide a piece of cardboard in to protect from being scratched while your working in there.
As far as I know there is no way to get the window down other than removing the motor itself. The motor is what holds the window up when closed. Make sure its the motor that has failed. There is also a switch located on the drivers side latch inside the gate that is designed to not allow the window to open when the gate is down. If that switch fails it the window motor will not function at all. I used a wire jumper to bypass the switch and solved my problem.
