To remove the ECM (Engine Control Module) from a 1991 Pontiac Bonneville, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Locate the ECM, which is typically found under the dashboard or in the passenger side footwell. Unplug the wiring harness connected to the ECM and remove any screws or bolts securing it in place. Finally, carefully pull the ECM out of its mounting location.
The ECM is located behind the glove box. Remove the glove box door. You'll see the ECM. Disconnect the battery. Remove the three plugs on the bottom of the ECM. There are 4 nuts that hold the ECM in. They are 10mm. Remove them and pull out the ECM. Install is just the reversal. Remember to take your PROM from the old ECM and put it in the new one. New ones don't come with the PROM and it's highly probable that a used one will have the wrong PROM installed as each one is programmed to each specific car.
Under the dash, left side you will have to remove the close out panel.

They won't work because the 15 amp fuse,located on the right side by the ecm,is blown or not making good contact.
The ECM is located on the driver's side, under the hood on a 2003 Pontiac Montana. It is on the driver's inner fender.
Open your glove box and compress the sides or remove the screws at the bottom of it you will find the ECM behind it attached with a metal strap and a 10mm screw.

The ECM on a 1998 Pontiac Transport with the 3.4 V6 engine is located on the passenger side. It is behind the glove box.
The ecm is located behind the "glove box", in the center console between the seats.
The ECM is located on the passenger's side, under the dashboard, beneath the glove-box. The O2 sensor is purple for the input- hi, and tan for input- lo.
remove the neg (-)battery pole and plug in back in about 5-10 minutes
