The inside door panel cannot be removed; instead, to get to the inner workings of the door remove the OUTER panel. Lift the outer door handle to expose the pins that hold the outer handle to the door mechanism. Then press out the pins and remove the handle. Then remove the screws around the perimeter of the door that hold the outer panel. The panel should lift off, exposing all of the inner workings, then you can verify that the inner panel does NOT come off.
I think you have to remove the lift gate interior plastic off. I haven't looked at ours yet so look for any exposed Philips screws. Remove if any, and if it's anything like removing the door panel you'll have to pry it off the lift gate. The fasteners that hold the lift gate panel are replaceable if they get ruined. good luck

THERE IS ONE SCREW BEHIND THE DOOR LIGHT. LIFT THE WINDOW CONTROL PANEL ON ARM REST AND REMOVE BOLT BEHIND IT. REMOVE PLASTIC COVER BEHIND INNER DOOR HANDLE. THEN LIFT THE PANEL UP. DO NOT PRY OR YOU WILL BREAK ALL OF THE PLASTIC SUPPORTS, YOU MUST LIFT IT UP.

Separate the lift gate latch from the lift gate. 6. Detach the door open warning lamp electrical connector *** Warning*** 7. Disconnect the lift gate latch control cable. 8. Remove the lift gate latch. 9. The installation is the reverse of the removal. > If necessary, use Multi-Purpose Grease Spray F5AZ-19G209-AA or equivalent meeting Ford Specification ESR-M1C159-A to lubricate the latch.
you have to remove the 2 brackets of the rear panel situated where the rear window close, then take the rear panel up, that's all
I was able to get my lift open by sticking a long, skinny, flathead screwdriver up between the latch and the body. Once it was in I slid the locking mechanism to the right. I got the gate open and was able to get the panel off and temporarily repair the latch.
look for the small round plastic peices around and under contours of the door panel. lift these with a screw driver and unscrew screws. panel should come off with a good pull.
