how do you remove the spider gears in a 1999 chevy siverado?
Take away the webbing
bug spray ought to do it
First remove rear cover then remove cross pin bolt. Once bolt is removed then slide out cross pin. After cross pin is removed then use your fingers and spin the spider gears out.
It should have two, one on each side of the spider gears between it and the differental carrier. Normally .031 to .062" in thickness.
You don't
You need to remove a bolt inline with the axles on the spider gears which holds the center pin in place. Remove the pin, rotate the spider gears to the other side. Now move the axles inward to reveal the c-clips and use a hemostat to remove. Of course the the truck is up on jacks with the tires removed.
It's inside the transmission (between the engine and the gears).
I would doubt it. The gears are usually dimensionally different in the front and rear axles. NO!
I the Blazer will run then the timing can be checked with a timing light. If not, the there are timing marks on the timing gears that will have to be checked to see if the timing jumped.
To install spider gears in the rear differential of a 2006 Z71 with a G80 locker and 3.73 gears, first, remove the differential cover and drain the gear oil. Next, remove the ring gear and the differential case to access the spider gears. Replace the old spider gears with the new ones, ensuring proper alignment and lubrication, then reassemble the differential by reversing the disassembly steps. Finally, refill the differential with the appropriate gear oil and check for proper operation.
Remove the bolt in the pin then u may have to get a chisle and hammer and knock it out
