HI,I A FEW CODES WHEN I WENT TO THE EMISSION TEST.P0402,P0420,P0430.AFTER I CHANGED THE EGR VALVE ALL OF THEM ARE GONE NOW. I JUST CHANGED MY EGR VALVE ON A 99'Ford Contour V6.IT WASN'T EASY ,IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS YOU SHOULD CHANGE THE EGR IN ABOUT 1 HOUR.BUT HERE IS THE TRICKY PART.THE EGR VALVE IS LOCATED TO NEAR TO THE FIREWALL,BUT THERE IS NO ROOM TO MOVE YOUR TOOLS. TRY TO PULL SOME PARTS FIRST OUT TO GET SOME ROOM THERE,THAT DID WORK.(DONT FORGET TO PUT IT BACK ON)IT WASNT EASY TO REMOVE IT,BUT I AM NOT A MECHANIC ,IF I DID IT YOU CAN DO IT.IF YOU WOULD LIKE HAVE MORE INFOS ABOUT THIS TOPIC JUST email ME ,I LL SEND YOU STEP BY STEP WHAT TO DO WITH PICTURES.I DONT HAVE A WEB PAGE THATS WHY I COULDNT PUT ALL THE INFOS AND PICS ON A PAGE.
Hello I know every vehicle is different, my contour is a 95 model is what you had posted the same for all year contours or is the egr valve located in a different spot? Also when I do replace the valve will I need to reprogram the computer?
