lucky for you i have done just that..well it was a 77 but still it should be in the same place....and I'm not sure you r going to like it .
step one: engine bay remove the ac/heater cover that big old fiberglass thing on the firewall passenger side *note take your time removing it them things are so easly busted* OK once you have it off go ahead and remove the lines from the heater core make sure you remove the bolts for the heater core housing ..that's inside the car
step two: in car, remove the dash (again take your time) there are alot of screws and bolts to remove rushing could brake something...(if added info for dash remove is needed I'll be glad to walk ya threw it just pop an E mail over to Yahoo send to jack77red ) once dash is out look on passenger fire wall you'll see a big black funny shaped box..if you removed the bolts as said in step one simply but careful pull the box of the fire wall and you should now see the main heater core body , with the water lines removed pull the core out ..replace
then ya just gotta go threw and put every thing back the same way it was before remove ..I know a pain in the butt ain't it, but that is the only way to git that core out and replaced...alot of work for something so simple i know
well i hope this info helps ya out ...and good luck to ya
The heater core is leaking. Replacing the heater core is your best bet.

sure the hood will its in the same generation. It will not be the same. The 77 is flat and the 76 has curves that extend from the fender.(I have both)
Yes every fish but gold need a heater. Keep the temperature 76 to 80 degrees fahrenhei
remove dashboard then remove the complete heater housing under the dash then 2 or 3 bolts on dash side & remove 2 more on the engine compartment & finally it will come out I just did it took me around 6 hours & some patience , good luck .
Yes it will. The outer perimeters of trans am hood are the same from 70' - 76'. Even though the grill of a '75 looks different, the egde that flushes against the front of the hood has the same curvature.
On most any heater, yes. The temperature you'd commonly be looking for is about 76*-80*F. This will vary though depending on what you're wanting to keep.
The '76 olds delta had a Turbo-Hydromatic 375 (TH375B) transmission. This trans had a lot of shared internals with the TH400 but in a lighter package. This was a great trans and I actually lost an external cooler and still was able to limp home ~10miles w/o any fluid left in the trans.
