theres a great website called shbox.com that has the routing diagram for the ac hose.
Take it to a refrigeration mechanic who knows what he is doing. So the above answer was completely unhelpful. I just went through this whole process and hopefully it'll save some time. When you replace the AC accumulator you have to replace the AC hose assembly, and believe me they're not lying at the Auto Part store when they say it requires it cause the updated drier line is a different size. First you bleed your AC system, then remove the hose assembly. Then you need to remove the drier line so you'll have to take off the front right tire, and the wheel well. Then you need a special tool to remove the drier line which is a little plastic round tool that you use to place over the hose. It's called "AC/Fuel Line Disconnect Tool Set"
The name of the AC hose for a BMW 323i is the AC vacuum hose. The hose can also be called the AC pump pressure hose.
You need to remove the two sections of the hose carrier assembly. Then unscrew the inner hose adapter and replace with a new one. Typically these break when you leave water in the hose and it freezes. You can buy the new assembly for around $5 in Canada at Rona.
The best way to extend or replace a portable AC exhaust hose for optimal performance is to use a hose that is the same diameter and length as the original hose. Make sure the hose is properly sealed to prevent air leaks, and avoid using duct tape as it can cause overheating. Additionally, keep the hose as straight and short as possible to maintain efficient airflow.
Hey Lisa==The lines and hose come as an assembly. Get one and you will see what you have to take off. GoodluckJoe
You have to remove the air conditioning compressor bolts set the unit aside but do not remove the freeon hose. Then remove the mounting bracket and then you can get to the bypass hose to replace it. Replace mounting bracket and compressor and job is complete
Check to see if the ac unit is spinning while the car is on and the ac is turned on. If it is not, you may have to replace your computer under the fan fliter. If it is, go out and get some ac dye to see if there is a leak in your ac hose
use a piece of duct tape and wrap the clutch assembly
To replace the thermostat on a 2002 Cavalier 22 Ecotec, drain the radiator and remove the upper hose assembly. Replace the thermostat and refill the radiator.
To replace a thermostat on 1998 Silhouette, locate it under the top hose assembly inside the radiator. It is fairly easy to replace with the right tools.
There was a recall on the AC seals, you may be able to get a little help from a dealership, but it also may have been too long since the recall. The recall was in 2001. Otherwise, you'll need to evacuate the AC system, remove the hose and replace the O-Ring seals, then recharge the AC. It's a relatively simple process if you have the tools.
