How do you replace interior door courtesy lamp?
Courtesy lamps are the interior lamps that come on when the door is opened or the interior lamps switch is actuated on the headlight switch. These are different from "interior illumination" lamps that light up your instrument cluster when the headlights come on.
Step 1: Get a sledge hammer. Step 2: Get the spare bulb. Step 3: Pound the crap out of both the new bulb and your door.

I have a '98 durango, and all it took was a thin blade between the bottom edge of the fixture and the door panel to gently pop out the fixture. Once it's out, it's very esy to replace the bulb and snap the fixture back into place
There should be a switch that has three positions, one position to have the courtesy lights come on only when doors are opened, another position to turn courtesy lights off completely and another position to have courtesy lights stay on continually.
Get a flat head screwdriver and pop it off...then replace the bulb
Some interior lights do not have a switch per se ... the light fixture itself moves or tilts, and usually has three positions: # Off - lamp stays off regardless of door open or closed # Door - lamp lights when door is opened - shuts off when closed # On - lamp will remain on regardless of door open or closed
Remove the screws inside the door opening which secure the lamp unit. Remove the lamp by pulling towars the rear of the vehicle (there'll be some resistance until the clips release). Remove the lamp socket by twisting and pulling out. Replace the bulb. Replacing lamp unit is reverse of removal.
