I have the identical problem with my 2002 century. To change the controller is no big deal , but to determine if that's what it is,is not. The controller is under the switches at the drivers door arm rest. Take a screwdriver or knife and slip it under the front of the plastic switch plate and pry back and up. There is a small spring loaded clip at this location. The back end just sits on 2 tabs and will lift forward and up. I have been told that it may not be the controller but maybe the relay(where ever it is). Without a wiring diagram it is tough to diagnos. I have been trying to get "free" diagrams online with no luck. Did you ever get yours fixed and what was it?
I would.

To replace the fuse for the cruise control in a 2002 Buick Century, first locate the fuse box, which is typically found under the dashboard on the driver's side or in the engine compartment. Open the fuse box cover and refer to the diagram on the inside to identify the specific fuse for the cruise control, usually labeled as "Cruise" or similar. Use a fuse puller or pliers to remove the blown fuse and replace it with a new one of the same amperage. Finally, close the fuse box and test the cruise control to ensure it is functioning properly.
The control is part ofthe turn signal switch and is very hard to replacce since there is the air bag to contend with. I suggest taking it to a garage.
