Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Remove the drive axle nut. Remove the brake rotor. Remove the mounting bolts (1) from the hub and bearing assembly (3). Remove the hub and bearing assembly (1) from the steering knuckle (2) and drive axle shaft.

Install is the opposite of removal.

Torque the axle nut to 70 lb ft.

Adam

The Axle nut is torqued to 200 Ft. Lbs. It's the wheel bearing mounting bolts that are torqued to 70 ft. lbs. This is right out of GM factory info. I am replacing one myself and do not have the correct size Torx but it looks like a Torx 55. I have one but it's 1/2" Drive and won't fit thru the wheel hub hole so as to reach the bolt-crapola!

Is there a difference between a rear hub assembly and a rear wheel bearing for a 1999 CRV?

If you're trying to replace the rear wheel bearing and all you can find is the rear hub assembly, it probably means that you can't get just the bearing. Many vehicle manufacturers press the bearing into the assembly at the factory and there is no way to replace just the bearing. If they're offering the assembly, that's probably what you'll need to buy.

How do you replace a rear wheel bearing on a 1999 Sienna?

I assume that it will be like a 1998 Sienna van. There is a sealed bearing in the hub assembly and you change the whole assembly. There are four bolts that hold the hub assembly to the suspension.

How do you change wheel bearings on a 1999 Hyundai Sonata?

it all depends on which wheel bearing you are trying to replace. for your front wheel bearings you have to remove the brakes, and axel. then you have to have a new bearing pressed into the housing. for a rear wheel bearing most of the time you can only purchase a pre packaged hub assembly. to replace that remove the brakes then remove the four bolts located on the rear of the hub assembly and it should come right off.
