refer to the gentelman's post about removing a water pump a little farther down on the page. the 1995-2004 models have the same basic design and there is a post on this site about removal on a '97 or '96 i think that will guide you step by step. if that isn't good enough, go to a parts store or Walmart and get a Chilton's repair manual. i think they are about $12-$20 and they have instructions and diagrams on any repair or maintenance you may need to perform.

The water pump is on the back side of the engine, under the exhaust manifold. This pump is driven off the timing chain. Yes, that's right, timing chain. You must remove the chain tensioner to release the pump sprocket from the chain to remove and replace the pump. Big job. Give yourself plenty of time to do this one.
