To reset the Passlock system on a 2003 Chevy Impala, first, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine. Leave the key in this position for about 10 minutes until the security light turns off. Then, turn the key to the "Off" position for a few seconds and repeat the process two more times. After the third cycle, the Passlock system should reset, allowing you to start the engine.
Turn the engine two seconds then leave the key in the run position for exactly ten minutes...the anti-theft security light should go from blinking to solid at the ten minute mark. Immediatly run the engine and the Passlock is reset. Good Luck!!
wait 10 minutes for the passlock system to reset for a GM vehicle.
cut the yellow small wire from ign. switch in the column up by the switch. this is the passlock wire. but will it start iwas told that it wouldnt
If you are changing it because your vehicle won't start when it is cold or humid, don't bother replacing it. Instead, you need to disable the PASSLOCK system. To find out how to do that search for "cut the white wire Saturn ion" on youtube. Good luck.
You really can't turn it off. They sell bypass kits, but the passlock system has to be working in order for the bypass thing to work.
how can I reset the security system on my 06 saturn vue
fill the coolant reserve and the light should go out
The ABS light is on because there is a problem with the system. Until the problem is fixed the light will remain on. Once the problem is fixed the light will reset itself.
Depends on the vehicle and manufacturer. On GM Passlock, you have to wait about 10 minutes for the system to automatically reset before you try it with the key again.

There are a myriad of possible "solutions" available. If you are even just a little bit technically savvy you can with a little bit of effort disable and or bypass the "passlock" system. Just Google Chevy impala passlock disablement or Chevy impala passlock bypass. There are several ways to do this and it would be better for you to read all the information available and arrive at your own decision. This seems to be a "VERY PREVELENT PROBLEM"
