The best answer I found for my 2002 Astro was to keep the trailer harness inside the van until needed, then simply open the door, bring out the harness, and close the doors with the harness on the floor of the van, coming out between and under the dutch doors. The rubber gaskets around the doors allow the doors to close on the harness without putting a kink in it, even. This protects the harness from weather when not in use.
It's usually a flat plug, directly under one of the tailligts or somewhere between them and behind the bumper.
The factory wiring harness for the trailers will plug in under the back of the vehicle in the area of the spare tire, the harness plugs into the wiring harness for the tail lights.
under the car, behind spare tire,is the wiring harness with access plug for dodge trailer harness (optional) my came with 2012 journey
You will find the tail light harness under the back of the vehicle. Unplug the harness and plug in the trailer harness between the two vehicle connectors. The kit should also contain instructions.
Yes, on a 2001 Tacoma it was a blown 5 amp fuse in the separate harness dedicated to the trailer lights. I did not realize Toyota Tacoma's came with a separate harness and fuse block just for the trailer lights/harness (this is separate from the under dash (#1) and under hood (#2). On a 2001 Tacoma , it located underneath the driver's side rear jump seat next to the factory tire jack.
If the 2004 GMC Envoy came with a tow package, then there should be a trailer brake controller harness. It would be located up under the dash near the brake pedal.
It should be by or under the rear of the vehicle.
There are about 5 fuses for the trailer harness, Trailer Back up,Trailer left turn, Trailer right turn, Trailer Brake, and Trailer hazards. They are located in the underhood fuse box on the Drivers side of your motor. On my 2003 Silverado, the Trailer left/stop and Trailer right/stop fuses are located in the fuse panel just inside the driver's side door. (Not sure about the trailer brake or hazard fuses.....I wasn't having problems with those :). There is one additional fuse for the trailer harness. The 15A fuse for the trailer running lights is located in the fuse panel under the hood, next to the battery. The fuse is labeled "Trailer Park".
You need to purchase the add on harness from the dealer. This harness plugs into one of the junction blocks located under the driver's side of dash above your left foot area. The other end of the harness attaches to your trailer brake controler. The trailer brake "blue" wire in back is folded back and tucked in the rear harness on the left side of the rear frame rail. You may have to drop the spare tire to expose it and connect it to the trailer connector plug.
Yes. Check the fuse/relay center under the hood.
To install trailer lights on a 2003 Mazda Tribute, first, locate the vehicle’s wiring harness under the rear bumper. You'll need a trailer wiring harness kit designed for the Tribute, which typically connects to the vehicle's existing wiring without splicing. Attach the harness by matching the connectors and securing them as per the kit instructions. Finally, mount the trailer lights and test them to ensure proper functionality.
To hook up trailer wiring on a 2008 Mercury Mariner, first locate the vehicle's wiring harness under the rear bumper. You will need a trailer wiring harness kit specifically designed for the Mariner, which typically connects to the existing wiring without splicing. Plug the harness into the vehicle’s factory connector, ensuring a secure fit, and then run the wiring to the trailer plug. Finally, test the connections by checking the lights on the trailer to ensure everything is functioning properly.
