I had a brand new 67 Firebird 400 3 speed automatic in 1967. It ran an official 14.33 quarter mile at the old Green Valley Race Track in Forth Worth, TX with those sorry bias ply red stripe tires completely stock including the exhaust pipe. As I recall, it had a speedometer that went to 140 mph and I buried the needle once on a wide open Texas highway, but I always doubted that the speedometer was accurate at the top end. The engine was rated at 325 hp and I would guess than it would do somewhere between 120-130 mph. It's biggest shortcoming was those standard drum brakes. I loved the car and wished I had not gotten rid of it after I got married in 1969.
The Pontiac Firebird was produced between 1967 and 2002. The car went through 4 generations in it's life time and was also related to the Firebird Trans Am.
A Firebird is a Generic name for a GM made Pontiac manufactured car made from 1967-now and possibly will go on for another century... The next firebird/trans am comes out probably in 2011 or 2012... lets hope so.

It is a common problem in most GM vehicles.
It would depend on the year for example a good condition but used 1997 firebird would go for about 7 to 8 thousand.
Give more info on what you have tried.. Go to question/answer # 19 on the Firebird faq's list, "If a 95 firebird starts right up..." Maybe this will help?!
My 1994 Trans Am does, it will go up to 110. I found out that the top speed of a 1994 Firebird or Trans Am is 156 mph.
go to the Pontiac dealership and see the parts man and he can help you out on that.
I am not positive but go to autozone.com and locate part compartment on your vehicle
either the owner's manual or the factory service manual
look in junkyards or go to the Pontiac dealer. best places to find stuff like that
The 1998 Pontiac 2.2 5 speed has a top end of 110 mph.
