The anti-theft system on a 1998 Ford Expedition typically involves two main wires: a light green wire and a white wire. The light green wire is often associated with the ignition circuit, while the white wire is linked to the anti-theft system itself. It's essential to refer to a vehicle-specific wiring diagram for precise details, as variations may occur based on the vehicle's configuration. Always exercise caution when working with automotive electronics.
Underneath the steering wheel you need to butt splice the two wires going to the switch what color are the wires and what side of the steering wheel is the wires and box
In a typical household wiring system, the standard color coding for electrical wires is white for neutral wires and black for hot wires.
The different color options available for wires in an electrical system include black, white, and green.
I would check the plug wires and the exhaust system.
Look under your dash for the alarm brain. Once you find that there will be two red wires (red/blue stripe and a red/brown dash's) side by side on it's own harness conecting to the brain. Cut the two wires and connect them together and your good to go!
To unhook a factory alarm system look for the alarm brain on the dash and Cut the two red and blue wires. Reconnect the wires and the alarm will be reset it self.
The main effect you will notice the car stalls and goes dead. The computer shuts down the fuel injectors. If you have problems with the theft system and "NORMAL" procedures dont reset the theft system, check the plug on the wire harness under the battery and there are a couple of "ground wires" under there ,too.
i had the same probelm what i did was, as i had a old system i connected the wires which go in to vehicle together so the system is there but wont work to its full potentiol
remove dash panel around stereo and heater controls, then remove the radio. then fish around the wires until you come across a yellow black and red (i think is the last color) set of wires taped together. what you want to do is cut the yellow wire. this will disengage the anti-theft system, but make sure your car is running when you cut the yellow wire or you will be screwed and the car won't start anymore. Hope that helps
In a 2002 Ford Expedition : ( No , not really ) both the 4.6 and the 5.4 have the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system , but there is a connection between the individual coil and the spark plug
that system may the older wires in the key cylinder yet. when the small wires start to break, the resistance goes up and the module reads the higher resistance, not allowing it to start.
