I'm not sure what year you have but for my 94 xlt it was as simple as:
-lower the window so you can open the tail gate.
-remove the access panel
-now open the window half way
-there are 4 bolts, 2 on each side that connect the window to the mechinism that raises and lowers it. remove those 4 bolts.
-open the window fully once disconnected from the mechinism
*MAKE SURE TO SUPORT THE WINDOW WITH BOX'S OR SOMETHING*
-diconnect the wiring harnes to the motor
-remove the 3 bolts that hold the motor in place.
-and slide it out
