You will need a repair manual for steps and torque specifications. I just replaced the head gasket on a 1995 with a 1.6 engine last week end. Not too tough, took about 6 hours. Basically remove wires and hoses, exhaust manifold and timing belt. You can disconnect the intake manifold and push it back out of the way. You will have to remove the cams to get to the head bolts which is the main thing about this engine that makes it a pain. Otherwise, not all that rough.
Replacing the head gasket on any vehicle is a long and complicated process, however if you wish to see basic step-by-step instructions go to the related question on the right side of the page "How do you replace a head gasket?"
Replace it , meaning the cracked head or the gasket . Neither can be repaired . The head can be repaired if its only warped from overheating by having it surfaced . It is best on the 8 valve or the 16 valve engines to replace with new parts.
Same answer as: "How do you replace a starter on a 92 Geo Prism LSI or GSI?" at this same site.
The average cost to replace a transmission for a Geo Prism will vary depending on the cost of labor and the year of the Prism. On average, it will cost between $3,500 to $4,000 dollars.
From under the car.
Look at how to replace one on a 93 model.
Remove the manifold and change the gasket. And voila!!!
Bad plugs, plug wires, vacuum leak, burnt valve, blown head gasket, just to name the obvious.
i dont really know
You gotta get under the car and do it from the back of the engine.

It is either an intake gasket leak or a head gasket.
