On the rear of your engine you will find a metal line with a plastic cap covering a schrader valve very much like the one you use to put air in your tires. Remove the cap and depress the core. If your fuel pump is working, it should spray some fuel out under pressure. If it just barely has pressure your fuel pump is probably shot. ( This is a common GM truck problem;; my father-in-law is getting about 45,000 miles and his fuel pump is shot ...3rd one ).

AnswerIf engine turns over but won't crank turn switch to run and listen for fuel pump. If you don't hear it, whack your fuel tank with a rubber mallet a feew times (I'm not kidding) and try to crank. If it does you need a fuel pump.

Answer:

Like the guy above said. give your fuel tank a few whacks with a rubber mallet while someone trys to start it. but this will usually only work once. so once you start it take it to your mechanic or wherever your going to fix it.
