If your heater core is LEAKING engine coolant so that your engine coolant level drops
too low or the engine coolant is lost completely and causes your engine to overheat
then your engine can be damaged beside the mess the leaking coolant makes inside
your vehicle ( you might be able to just temporarily bypass the heater core so that no
engine coolant is flowing through the heater core )
If your heater core wasn't leaking at the time your radiator was replaced , then ( no ) That would be two separate jobs
First, be certain it actually is in your heater core. A heater core doesn't have any moving parts, so if there's a noise coming from it, then it's probably from physical damage or a puncture, and it'll have to be replaced.
The heater matrix, in a Peugeot 206, can be replaced by removing the heater core and the hoses. With the heater core removed you can replace it with a new heater core.
check and make sure that the hose clamps are tight mine was leaking at the bottom of the hose replaced heater core for nothing
