Not so fast. If the old engine was a slant 6, you will need to change the k-member. Depending on the year of the 340, you may need to get the correct flywheel or torque converter because some of these were externally balance. Early 340's were a forge crank and the later ones were a cast crank.
Easy pull old motor out put 340 in!!!!!
Theoretically about 2000-3000 lbs, but keep in mind the Duster 340 was not designed to be a tow vehicle.
Yes it is possible remove the tranny and engine at the same time. I have done it with a 74 and a big block and tranny

The bumpers for a 1972 Plymouth will fit a 1973 Plymouth duster with a little fabrication.
In 1972, a total of 3,578 Plymouth Duster models equipped with the 340 engine and 4-speed manual transmission were produced. The 1972 model year marked the end of the high-performance 340 engine in the Duster lineup, as emissions regulations and changing consumer preferences began to impact muscle car production. This makes the 1972 Duster 340 a notable collector's item among automotive enthusiasts.
E-70 - 14 tires on the duster 340 or 735-14 plain tires on the regular duster.
back then you could order 2.76, 2.92, 3.23, 3.55, 3.90, or 4.10's, most came with 3.23 or 3.55's.
all depends on the shape it's in and dodge never made the duster, plymouth did.
340 V8 bhp is the power of the Plymouth duster manual 1972 engine and its maximum speed is 110 mph.
the 727 should bolt up to the 340. A 727 transmission from a slant 6 will not bolt up to a 340. Find one off of a 273,318, 340 or 360.
