On the 4.0 liter OHV ( pushrod ) V6 engine , it is on the drivers side of the engine
below the Power Steering pump
On the 4.0 liter SOHC V6 engine , I believe it is on the front of the engine , low down ,
in the area where the lower radiator hose connects to the water pump

The oil pressure sending unit on the 4.7L engine is right above the oil filter.
I believe that is near the oil filter
The oil sending unit is just behind the oil filter. It screws into an aluminum housing and should be easy to remove.
On my 1995 Ford Explorer, with the 4.0 L OHV engine, the sending unit for the oil pressure guage is located just below the power steering pump.
On a 1996 Ford Explorer : ( if you have the 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine ) The oil pressure sending unit for the gauge is on the drivers side of the engine , below the power steering pump )
The oil sending unit is located on the back of the block, directly behind/below the distributor.
the sending unit is located near the bottom of the block on the left ( driver side) it is on the same harness as the oil level switch
On my 1996 Nissan altima the oil sending unit is located above the oil pan and below the oil filter on the passenger side of the vehicle.
