The first thing i would do is to check the switch of the door that is inoperable, i am assuming that you have already checked the fuses, so the similar problem i had is that the motor in my drivers side door is to weak to push up the window approximate cost to replace is about 40 - 60 dollars. I hope that this helps you out and good luck.
It's the driver's window defogger
1999 Pontiac Montana drivers side power window down wont go up. New motor and different switch (used, may not be good), installed. Window still wont go up. Switched wires in plug at motor and motor does reverse when not installed in door. How does motor switch polarity? Is it done in the switch? I cant find any limit switches. I do not have a schematic of system. Thanks RP
To bypass the window switch on a 1999 Pontiac Montana, you can use a jumper wire to connect the window motor directly to the power source. First, remove the door panel to access the window motor and locate the motor's power wires. Then, carefully connect the jumper wire to the appropriate terminals on the motor, allowing you to raise or lower the window manually. Exercise caution to avoid short circuits or damaging the motor.
If it looks the same it will probably work.
had the same problem with 2002 montana. Removed master control switch and cleaned up electrical connections. Worked fine ever since.
How do yo fix a stuck driver side electric window on a 1998 pontiac firebird.
From my 07 manual:Start the engine. Push down and hold the driver's window switch until the window is fully open.Pull and hold the driver's window switch to close the window completely, then hold the switch for about 2 seconds.
I just bought a Pontiac Montana 2004 and dont know how to close the rear windows
To fix the driver's side window on a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am, first, check the fuse for the power window system and replace it if necessary. If the fuse is fine, inspect the window switch for faults and consider replacing it if it’s unresponsive. If the window still doesn’t work, you may need to remove the door panel to access the window motor and regulator, checking for any mechanical obstructions or damage. If the motor is faulty, replacing it should restore function to the window.
Maybe its your driver-side window regulator that stopped working.
To fix the driver's power window on a 2004 Pontiac Vibe, first, check the fuse related to the power windows and replace it if necessary. If the fuse is fine, inspect the window switch for any signs of damage or malfunction; try cleaning or replacing it. If the switch is working, the issue may lie in the window motor or regulator, which may require removing the door panel to access and troubleshoot. If you're not comfortable with this, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic.
Me and two of my friends have had problems with one or another window not responding, every time it was the actual switch in the center counsel that went out
