Well I asked this one and now i will also answer it. It is one of the cables going from the shifter to the transmission broke
Gear shift linkage?Remove gear shift from top and align
yup had the same problem never knew what broke in the tranny
Your manual transmission may be stuck in first gear due to several reasons, such as a malfunctioning clutch, a damaged shift linkage, or an issue with the transmission itself, like worn synchronizers. If the clutch isn't fully disengaging, it can prevent the gears from shifting properly. Additionally, check for any obstructions or debris around the shift lever and linkage. If the problem persists, it's advisable to consult a mechanic for a thorough diagnosis.
...just unstick-it!
it maybe a blown fuse check your manual i think its under hood fuse box
my Pontiac keeps getting stuck in park

buy a new one you lost your shifting fork.
high spot on the flywheel acts like clutch is not depressed
Is this a manual transmission? If so, this is a pretty common problem for these cars. Probably going to have to replace the shifter cable. About $50 at Advance.
you could either have a bad syncranizer or the throw out bearing is up
