probably or there part of the same piece ....normally there's multiple bushings on a lower control arm ...i guess it just depends on the vehicle and its probably easier to replace the whole arm rather then individual bushings.

Why does the axles or the control arm move or shift from side to side when sheering?

I am having the same problem and it turns out to be that the bushing in the control arm to the frame is shot. The control arm is not suppose to move at all. This will also cause tire wear. You can actually replace the bushing at an inexpensive cost however, if you try to buy the bushing kit from the Saturn dealer, they will tell you that you have to replace the control arm. That is very expensive. By the way , you need a press to replace the bushing.

How much should it cost to replace front control arm bushings on a 1996 Chevy blazer?

There are many bushings on a front lower control arm. However, i have a 2003 honda accord and it only needs the big bushing to be replaced and many shops quoted me around $200-260. All shops required to have the alignment done at the same time and it should be around $50-70 so shop around. Good luck

What could cause a loud knocking sound when making a left turn in a BMW 330ci?

On the BMW 330ci (model years 2001 and up), one common problem is the front control arm bushings. The control arm bushing is round, about 3 inches in diameter, and sits in a metal retaining bracket, which has two bolt holes. The bushing can be seen under the vehicle, near the front tire. The central rubber portion of the bushing wears out over time, and if broken, will cause vibration and clunking or knocking noise. The bushings are usually sold as a set (one for left, one for the right) because it's best to replace both at the same time. Price range is approximately $130-160 for a set of two. Another differential diagnosis (although NOT as common a problem as the front control arm bushings) is the front CV axle assembly. A worn CV joint can cause clicking or clunking sounds especially when making a turn.

Do the lower control arms on a El Camino fit onto a 1968 Camaro if so which years?

How to replace lower control arm bushing on 97 ford Contour?

They need to be pressed out with a press and reinstalled the same way. But you're probably better off getting new control arms because they are relatively inexpensive compared to other vehicles and it comes with new bushings and ball joint. As of now (Oct 2009) you can find these replacement control arms for as little as $76 per side.

How do you raise strut and steering knuckle in order to install ball joint stud into knuckle 1996 Lhs?

There is no need to "raise" the strut. With the strut bottomed, the lower control arm can be pushed down far enough to get the ball joint stud under the steering knuckle and guide the ball joint stud into the bore. Take care not to damage the CV joint rubber boot as the ball joint stud will be very close to it. Also you can detach the lower control arm from the frame by removing the bushing bolt which will make it easier to install the the ball joint stud and less likely to damage the boot. When the need arises for ball joint replacement on these vehicles, I usually replace the entire lower control arm assembly. They aren't that expensive and the ball joint is already installed in the control arm along with a new rubber bushing on the other end. The rubber bushing is usually also worn out by the time the ball joint is worn out. I usually replace both left and right lower control arms at the same time since they both wear at the same rate. Check wheel alignment afterwards. Most of the time realignment isn't required but it needs to be checked. The real payoff is a noticeable improvement in ride quality and steering control. Good luck, Jay

Does the front transmission seal on a 1994 Chevy Blazer S10 4 wheel drive have to be put in from the front or from behind the front pump plate?

You carefully pluck the old one out, and use something like a peice of PVC pipe to hammer the new one in. It probably won't fix your problem though. Take the transmission to a shop, and have them do it for you, and at the same tiem, have them replace the pump's bushing. It requires disassembly of the pump, and special tools to replace the bushing.
