you have to go under the car to the transfer case there is a bolt to pull out put your finger inside if it comes out wet your good, only do this when motor is off and cooled down.
For an automatic transmission, check the side of the transmission by or at where the shifter linkage goes into the trans. For a manual transmission, check under the shifter boot.
where do you add manuel transmission fluid on a 1991 geo storm 5 speed
manual transmiissions theres a fill plug on the drivers side take the wheel off and youll see it next to the cvjoint
Dextron 2 If your trans is manual... the manufacturer recommends Synchromesh Transmission fluid (MTF) GM 12345349. Which is available a your typical auto parts store and of course the Chevy dealer.
The Manual stated the approx fluid capacity is 1.9 liters (2 quarts). They recommended using MT oil # 12345349 or equivalent, it was suggested to me this is to be 5W motor oil, not gear oil.
maybe your transmission is going out or you dont have sufficent transmission fluid.
80W
4 pints
there is no pilot bushing/bearing for the Geo Storms '90-'93 manual transaxle.
remove dipstick and place a funnel into the tube ..voila..only add while the car is running and in park ------------------------------------------ If this is a manual transmission, there is 2 big bolts on the driver SIDE of the transmission around where the axle slides in. The lower is for draining, the upper is for filling. Fill until oil pours out of the fill hole.
You add the fluid into the same tube that the dipstick goes in. It is a pain in the butt because you need a long narrow funnel with a skinny end to fit in the dipstick tube.
It should. To better check, go to local parts store and check the Haines Manual...is should be for both Geo Metro and Geo Storm, just check that is bolts up the same.
