I have the haynes repair manual on that car and it doesn't tell the location or show a picture I could explain, but it does say when working in thevicinity of the electric cooling fan disconnect the - battery cable. So my guess it is somewhere around there. Sorry I tried. The water pump is located under the timing belt cover and is driven off the timing belt

The water pump is located on the front of the engine (which is the passenger side end). It is behind the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt. Once the plastic timing cover is removed, (which will also require removal of the accessory drive belts) it can be most-easily accessed by removing the passenger side tire and getting to it through the wheel well on that side.
I don't know the cost as that depends on where you live, but may I give you some advice. As the water pump is driven by the timing belt, if this car has over 100,000 miles on it, replace the timing belt at the same time as the belt. This will save you money down the road when the pump fails. The belt should be replaced every 60,000 miles.
