Mopar is a performance enhancing brand which was most popular in the 60's for muscle cars. Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth are the only cars called Mopar cars. The Chrysler/ Dodge/ Plymouth brands were MOPAR, and they made some of the slickest cars of the 60's- 70's muscle era.

The fact is that most muscle cars have big V8 engines that are built for raw power but the one problem is that muscle cars are heavy which import cars are not but the V8 can make up for it with most going over 400+ HP and there are not that many import cars that can match that, in the end pure power wins the race.
The pony cars were based on the compact body cars and featured small block V8 engines The Muscle cars were based on full sized cars and fitted the most powerful engine available.
