A window is held in the door track of a car in two ways. First, on the bottom of the glass inside the door panel there is a grooved channel with attachments fitted to them. The glass is secured in the bottom this way, and is attached to the raising and lowering mechanism. Second, the glass fits into a groove above the door panel, assuring it slides in place.
If your window is like my grand am the glue that holds the track and window together is not holding properly, so window keeps coming off track. I have not found a glue that holds yet.

How do you take the door panel of a sl Saturn 98 window off track.
Panel track shades have a sliding track system attached to the window or door frame.
You will need to remove the inside door panel. With the door panel removed the entire window mechanism will be visible. Set the window back on the track and secure it with the retaining clips.
Take the outer door panel off then unbolt the old window from the track then place the new window in the track this will take sometime because the new window has to go in at an angle before you place the new window in the track make sure the track is at the bottom of the door use your hand tp place the window all the way down in the door then bring the window all the way up holding it with one hand at the bottom of the window you need to put the window all the way to the bottom first to make sure the window clips aline in the window track. roll the bottom of the track up intill you can bolt the new window in but be careful if you tighten down the window to tight it will break the put the door panel back on
