Low compression in a cylinder, a burnt valve, loose plug or plug wire, bad injector, bad electronics.
Check to see whats missing when it won't start. Needs fuel & gas to run.
The next step should be to check the oxygen sensor. If this isn't the issue then check the coil or coil pack to ensure proper firing.
Changed the plugs wires cap n rotor on a 92 ranger 3.0. Now it wont start. Do i have to set the timing,n if so how?
yes and no did not changed fuel filter
Was it missing and sputtering before you changed them? If no, then you could have got the firing order mixed on the distributor. Maybe if you didn't replace the wires also one became more damaged while removing it. If yes, maybe its your fuel, or injectors, and you need to add a bottle of cleaner to your gas tank.
Have vehicle scanned to determine which coil is bad
Do a compression test to determine condition of engine internals
sounds like you need to change the plugs and wires
How many freeze plugs are in the back of a 4.0 engine Ford 96 model ranger
Sounds electical. If it has over 100K miles, have the plugs been changed? After this, it might get expensive.
On mine, the plug wires were bad, and no making a proper connection. changed plugs and wires and the problem was solved.
There are six freeze plugs
