The next step should be to check the oxygen sensor. If this isn't the issue then check the coil or coil pack to ensure proper firing.

Low compression in a cylinder, a burnt valve, loose plug or plug wire, bad injector, bad electronics.
Check to see whats missing when it won't start. Needs fuel & gas to run.

Changed the plugs wires cap n rotor on a 92 ranger 3.0. Now it wont start. Do i have to set the timing,n if so how?

Do a compression test to determine condition of engine internals
Make sure that the spark plug boots are firmly seated into the heat shields on the rear plugs. They can vibrate loose if not firmly seated.

Sounds electical. If it has over 100K miles, have the plugs been changed? After this, it might get expensive.
On mine, the plug wires were bad, and no making a proper connection. changed plugs and wires and the problem was solved.
