The points gap for a 1971 Chevy Chevelle with a 307 cubic inch engine is typically set between 0.016 to 0.019 inches. This gap ensures proper ignition timing and performance. It's important to check the specification in the vehicle's service manual, as variations may occur based on specific configurations or modifications. Regular maintenance of the points can help maintain optimal engine performance.
