About 2-2.5 gallons

How to change fluid. Follow this, i blew an engine not doing this plus had a crack in the Radiator and thermostate that leaked but i think it was an air bubble that blew black betty. Save your self 2,000 bucks and do it right. I Wrote for idiots.

1. Drain old fluid. (there should be a plug on the bottom of your radiator or if you want you can disconnet the lower water pump hose from the rad.) DO WHEN THE ENIGINE IS COOL.

2. Then to fill park on a slit hill rad/front of Jeep at top.

3. Remove the top rad. cap and make sure to plug the drain hole or reconnect the hose.

4. Fill radiator. mix about 1.7-2.2 gallons to do this with about 50-70% anti-frezze. (never use pure anti-frezze)

5. Fill your radiator then Fill your resovoir. only about an 1/8 to 1/4 full max

6. leave the cap off your rad. for burping. turn on the jeep and turn on the heat to max to fill your thermo. run about 8min's filling the neck of the radiator as you go.

7. (Not needed but its what i do). place cap on let cool 4 hour's top of radiator. run engine open thermostate agian. let cool another 4 hours and take of the cap an fill the rad. (rinse repeat do as many time's as you feel needed)

8. Fill your resovoir to the just above the add line. NOT TO THE FULL MARK AT ALL.

9. Fill your radiator one last time after you run your jeep hot for a while like going to work. make sure engine is cool.

10. I would wait about a week or two before actually fillling your resovir up too the just below the full mark.

How many gallons of water on a 1999 Jeep Wrangler?

If you are asking about how much engine coolant does a 1999 Jeep hold, the complete cooling system probably holds 12 to 14 qts of coolant depending on which engine it has and whether or not it has ac. If you are only draining the radiator, aprox 4 to 5 qts. It is not a good idea to use water only.

Where is the coolant system in a 2007 hhr?

In a 2007 Chevrolet HHR, the coolant system primarily consists of the radiator, coolant reservoir, water pump, and hoses, which are located in the engine compartment. The radiator is situated at the front of the engine bay, while the coolant reservoir is typically found near the driver's side. The water pump, which circulates the coolant, is mounted on the engine. Coolant hoses connect these components, facilitating the flow of coolant throughout the engine and radiator.

How does the coolant reservoir work?

when the engine is running and coolant will become hot to its operating temperature, the cooling system is under pressure, coolant will overflow and goes to coolant reservoir.when the engine goes cold coolant will go back to the rediator.

Why does engine coolant pump out of the radiator?
