u don't need a tool but it will make you're life easier u can borrow this tool from you're local auto-zone or advanced auto if no, u can use wrenches but there a pain in the but and u will be fighting for space ,buy one use it and then return it its an inner tie rod
remover it looks like a tube with a nut on one end and a hole for a half inch ratchet at the other after u install the new tie-rod make sure u torque it to manuf specs
