3/8" wratchet and sockets, primarily. Misc. pliers and screwdrivers to remove some of the junk that is in the way. I use a 3/8" air wrench to make my life easier. Bandaids.
I HAD TO REPLACE MY SERPENTINE BELT BUT ENDED UP HAVING A MECHANIC DO IT FOR ME AND AT THE SAME TIME HE SAID THAT IT TOOK A SPECIAL TOOL TO REMOVE THE TENSION PULLY. THE TENSION SPRING ON THE PULLY HAD FROZEN. Ive replaced both the tensioner pulley and tensioner assembly on my 90 Dynasty 3.3 there are no special tools required its a 15mm both for both the pulley and assembly, tho there is a bit of patience required as neither is very easy to get to but its not terribly diffcult
a fork
The job is not too hard. With the right tools, just remove the belt, and unbolt the tensioner, and replace. Then with your ratchet i( it fits in the square slot ) slack the tensioner and slip the new belt on. You have to slack the tensioner to take off the belt also.
The shipping weight for this is 275 lbs. Assembly is required. Tools for assembly are included in the package. This trainer has a 5 year warranty on the frame, and 1 year for parts.
No tools required. At the top of the headlamp assembly there are two L-shaped pins that are snapped into a plastric groove. Rotate the pins out of the snaps and pull the pins straight up. The entire headlight assembly will now slide forward to replace any bulb. Details are also in the owner's manual.
If you're asking, you should take it to a mechanic. Honest, you don't want to tear into that. Special tools are required, you have u-joints, brake lines, torqued bolts - it's a mess.
To replace a wheel hub assembly, you'll need basic hand tools including a socket set, wrenches, and a torque wrench. Additionally, a hammer or a mallet might be required to loosen stubborn components, and a pry bar can help with disassembly. A floor jack and jack stands are essential for safely lifting and securing the vehicle. Finally, a brake cleaner and possibly new nuts or bolts may be necessary for reassembly.
The oil pan must be removed. No special tools required, just normal mechanics tools.
To replace a thermostat on 1998 Silhouette, locate it under the top hose assembly inside the radiator. It is fairly easy to replace with the right tools.
Look just behind the headlight assembly on either side. You will see two small, black clips that attach to the wall vertically. Pull up both clips on each assembly, and the headlight assembly will pull right out, no tools required. I felt like an idiot when I was messing with the aiming adjustment screws for 30 minutes before I realized this.
Depending on the year...You take it to the Dealership, unless you have the 3 required SST's(Special Service Tools) at least at 10-ton shop press and the know how to remove and handle and entire axle shaft assembly.
I had the tensioner and belt replaced on my 93 saturn. Before hiring someone I looked into it online. My advice is that unless you have the tools and basic skills for mechanics (the basics yes, the tools no) I would suggest you take it to a mechanic and since you are doing that you might aswell have the serpinine belt replaced and tightened too. Good luck
