The bolt pattern is the same, but the hub length is different. Newer wheels do not always fit on pre 2002 trucks do to the hub.
it depends what truck your talking about, Year and Model. Mos of them are 6 bolts and are 6x139.7, then the 5 bolt trucks are 5x114.3. I dont know of the older ones but I would assume its the same as the 6 bolt pattern

1970 could have a 5 on 4.5 or a 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern measure from one cbolt enter to the next bolt center if distance 2 5/8 then 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern if distance 2 3/4 then 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern if distnace 3 then 5 on 5 bolt pattern if distance 3 1/4 then 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern hope this helps
