It sounds like a bad turnsignal switch to me, the way you describe it.
May have a bad flasher unit in the under dash fuse box, if all lights are working.
Could be a loose ground wire. Usually connected to a bolt on the frame near the rear axle.
Several possiblities that come mind. Turn signal switch, problem with a weak wire or connection that could be anywhere in circuit including between switch to fuse box to sockets, corrosion in sockets or a flasher or bulb. Sometimes bulbs filiments (the real fine wire you see in the bulb) can be weak braeak away temporarily but re-weld it self until it happens again.
replace flasher for for turn signals
Possibly a defective Flasher Relay. Replace it. Can also be a turn signal switch going bad. You can try cleaning it with a spray electronic cleaner.
Faulty light bulbs, damaged engine.
Bad turn signal flasher?
Yes it could.

Check the bulbs - they are doubloe filamented with the smaller being for brake/turn signals Check the fuses
On many cars one bulb on one side will cause both front and rear turn signals not to work so 1st check bulbs. Hope it fixes.
Is your headlight switch and blinker switch the same? If so, this is called the combination switch. Sounds like it is bad and needs to be replaced. Not uncommon for these to break.
The turn signals on a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage may stop working due to several issues, including a blown fuse, a faulty turn signal relay, or defective bulbs. Additionally, problems with the wiring or a malfunctioning switch on the steering column could also cause the signals to fail. It's important to check the fuses first, as they are often the simplest and most common cause. If the fuses are intact, further diagnostics of the relay and switch may be necessary.
Its either a faulty cable or a faulty electrical connection.
Check for a loose power steering belt.
