I would start by checking and cleaning the battery cables.Might be something as easy as that. Also I would try hooking up jumpper cables to the connections under the hood. this would elimanate the battery and all cables from under the rear seat. If it starts fine with jumpper cables trace it backward to fine bad cable. now the bad news,if none of this helps it is most likely a bad start solinoid witch is mounted on top of the starter. More bad news the starter is under the intake manifold. This is a a job to remove the manifold and injectors and wiring to get to the starter.Hopefully the lose or dirt battery cables fixes the problem. Good luck, hope this helps, Ben Parker, San Jose, Ca.

A 1999 Ford F-350 SD 7.3L may die when hot due to several potential issues, including a failing fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or overheating engine components. When the engine heats up, a weak or failing fuel pump may not provide adequate fuel pressure, leading to stalling. Additionally, issues with the ignition system, such as a failing ignition coil or sensor, can also contribute to this problem. It's advisable to diagnose the fuel and ignition systems to pinpoint the exact cause.

Why does 1991 passat splutter and die when engine reachs normal operating temperature and won't start again until engine cools?

Check the ignition coil. At cold coils generally operate properly, when the coil heats a failing unit will start to break down and fail causing misfiring and poor engine operation. Second check for a failing ignition controller in the distributor.
