You probably have a broken Sun Gear from hammering into reverse. Its a cage thing that only works the reverse gear. It holds a set of clutch's. You have to pull the entire transmission to fix. Its almost the last thing before the output shaft. Around a $50 part.

To fix a Bravada stuck in park, first ensure that the brake pedal is fully depressed, as the shift interlock system requires this to allow shifting. Inspect the shift linkage for any obstructions or damage, and if necessary, consult the vehicle’s manual for troubleshooting steps or consider seeking professional assistance.

If a 1990 Ford Probe only runs in reverse, it may indicate a problem with the transmission, such as low fluid levels, a failing transmission pump, or internal damage to the transmission components.
