On a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, the fusible link is typically located in the engine compartment, near the battery. It is usually found within the wiring harness or connected to the power distribution center. Look for a small, cylindrical component or a section of wire that appears thicker than the surrounding wires. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for specific diagrams and locations.

A quick test without an ohm meter would be to pull on the suspected fuseable link wire. If it is blown it will stretch line a rubber band.
a fuseable link is just a length of wire that will carry a certain load. check the awg (american wire guage) ratings and install that size wire at the power source of that circuit

Fuse or fuseable link. Possibly a shorted out switch.
There was more than one size used on the 1992 Pontiac Grand Am depending on which model it was GT, etc. It should be listed on the drivers door post. If not click the link I will post.
